Smite with Incon
Client: E-Sport Revolution, a 24/7 e-Sport-focused streaming channel.
Goal: Make a TV-styled episode of a streamer called Incon. Incon is a Twitch personality who plays a game called Smite, and the episode follows a highlight-reel-type structure.
Approach: I was given a non-negotiable less-than-optimal intro and outro to work with. But for the footage, I combed through it to find the most “happening” moments. These can be the loudest reactions, the funniest instances, or the most hype plays. I found 44 minutes worth of footage, adding effects here and there. Small things like simple pans, crops, subtitles, and even cookie cutters. This was done to emphasize certain details and interactions to a first-time viewer, allowing them to interpret the most important details from each clip.
Result: This style provided ESR with many tightly edited episodes of Incon for broadcast, giving their viewers entertaining content and giving Incon more publicity.
During my summer internship, which lasted three months, I put together 100 separate episodes for the company! Which is rather impressive when each episode had to be 44 minutes of decently edited content.
