Smooth Progressions

Client: Smooth Progressions, an acapella group based at Elon University.

Goal: Smooth Progressions needed a flyer to advertise the group to possible new members and listeners to be designed and posted around the school.

Approach: I used the color scheme of Smooth Progression’s branding by ripping the hex codes directly from their website. I used slants on practically everything in the flyer: The frame, the photos of the group performing, the intro text, and the media plugs at the bottom. I used this to create a vibrant and moving poster, matching the vibes of the group. The only thing that’s straight is the main call to action in the middle, where I specifically highlighted the group’s name in a much larger text. The image's background is a very light blue fitted with a barely visible version of the Smooth Progressions logo. This adds a final splash of personality and branding while not detracting from any of the main features.

Result: The flyer shows off the group’s strong personality and appeal through multiple design choices, hopefully enticing new members to sign up for the group themselves.
